We are kicking into high gear as we are planning in the middle of holiday season. We have an upcoming wedding for Kellie and Loc in Orange County and we cannot wait to blog about it.
We’ve had fans and clients asking us for ideas for their holiday parties (i.e. Christmas and New Year’s Eve). We wanted to share a few ideas for those of you who are hosting these special events during the holidays.
Set the Mood: What does this mean? What kind of party are you looking into hosting? An elegant dinner party? A casual cocktail party? or something a little different? To set the mood you must look into decor and space. If you have a small space, I always tell my clients to keep it simple. Don’t deck the halls with a ton of bauble or garlands; you just need one focal point whether it be a Christmas tree or a simple centerpiece with candles. A great idea for a centerpiece is to fill different vases with ornaments. I’m sure you have a few extra ornaments lying around. You can also light up candles around your home.
Have some Spirits: Holiday cocktails are great and sometimes a must at any events. Whether it be champagne, egg nog, or plain old scotch on the rocks; cocktails lighten up the mood. You can also make MOCKTAILS for those that do not drink or are pregnant during the holidays.
Set the Table: You can have just finger food, hor’dourves or for those a tad fancier, a full feast. Setting the table is not just appealing to the eyse but you can use the set up as another part of your decor. Add some festivities through food is a great idea. Whether it’s a full holiday roast with all the fixins or just a cheese platter, you can’t go wrong with a little holiday bites. Make sure your set up has clean lines, not too clustered and set up with diffent stations will help keep the buffet tables less crowded.
Theme Parties: I love having theme parties because it adds fun and laughter. Some of my favorite parties during the holidays are, white elephant parties, ugly sweater parties and Christmas Potluck. It’s always amazing to reconnect with friends and family for the holidays. Make this holiday an affair full of joy.
From our family at K & S Events to yours….Have a wonderful holiday season and may you ring in the New Year with lots of love and laughter.
